How To Get & Craft K.K. Slider Music Boxes
Music Boxes are a unique set of furniture items that can play K.K. Slider songs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH)! Learn how to unlock and craft them in this guide.
Newly introduced in the massive Version 2.0 Update released on November 3rd, you’ll need to have your copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons fully updated to enjoy Music Boxes.
What Are Music Boxes?
The Music Box is a special type of furniture item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons that can be used play any K.K. Slider song in your house or outdoors. When music is played with a Music Box though, a classical music box sound effect is applied to the song!
To use a Music Box, simply place it somewhere, walk up in front of it, and press A to select a K.K. Slider song. Learn how to unlock K.K. Slider songs in our guide here if you need more tracks!
This item returns from past Animal Crossing games, including Animal Crossing: New Leaf where they could be created by Cyrus, but is now available again in New Horizons with the Version 2.0 Update.
How To Get Music Boxes
There are two different types of Music Boxes you can find and craft in Animal Crossing: New Horizons — the Wooden Music Box and Shell Music Box! Learn how to get both of them below, plus their required crafting materials.
How To Craft Wooden Music Box
The Wooden Music Box DIY Crafting recipe can be unlocked by finding Snooty villagers crafting in their homes, or inside of Message Bottles.
Craft the Wooden Music Box using the following materials and items:
- 3 Wood
- 3 Softwood
- 1 Iron Nugget
How To Craft Shell Music Box
The Shell Music Box DIY Crafting recipe can be unlocked by finding Peppy villagers crafting in their homes, or inside of Message Bottles.
Craft the Shell Music Box using the following materials and items:
- 3 Giant Clam
- 2 Iron Nugget

Wooden Music Box Customizations
The Wooden Music has an absolutely massive amount of customization options with wood choices including Light Wood, White Wood, Cherry Wood, Dark Wood, Black, Green, Blue, and Pink Wood.
Then you can also choose from many pattern options including None, Music Instrument, Blue Flowers, Yellow Flowers, White Flower, Red Flowers, Geometric Patterns, Bird, and even your own custom pattern design!
Shell Music Box Customizations
There are five different color customization options for the Shell Music Box, including Pearlescent White, Pearlescent Black, Pearlescent Pink, Pearlescent Yellow, Pearlescent Purple.
