International Museum Day 2023: Where To Find Stamp Stations & Rewards

International Museum Day is a limited-time holiday event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH) taking place in the island’s museum during the second half of May! Learn where to find Stamp Stations and how to get all of the rewards in this guide.

This event was implemented for 2022 and beyond with the Version 2.0 released in November 2021, so you’ll need to have updated your copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons to experience the event after 2021.

International Museum Day Event Start Date & Time

The International Museum Day event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons starts on May 18th every year running for almost two full weeks until May 31st, including during 2023! As the Museum building operates 24 hours a day, the event is run all day long too.

Originally, the International Museum Day event was only available one year a time, but is now widely available during every in-game year after the Version 2.0 Update made adjustments.

How To Play International Museum Day

When the International Museum Day event begins on your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, there will be a morning announcement from Isabelle sharing the news of a Stamp Rally on the behalf of Blathers! After this announcement, you can start the event’s activities by heading to your Museum and speaking to Blathers.

He’ll tell you all about International Museum Day and how his establishment is holding an exciting Stamp Rally to celebrate the occasion! If you don’t talk to Blathers, you won’t be able to collect any stamps yet.

How To Get Stamps For Your Stamp Card

Once you’ve spoken to Blathers and gotten the low down on the event, you can begin collecting stamps by touring your Museum’s galleries. Each exhibit including Fish, Bugs, Fossils, and Art has three handy Stamp Stations in the gallery bearing an owl logo.

Simply walk up to one of these carts inside the Museum to open up your Stamp Card for that section and press A to fill out one of the spots with a stamp! Every stamp card has three unique stamps to collect — one for each of the stations within the exhibit.

Once you’ve visited and collected 3 stamps from each station in a single exhibit, your Stamp Card for that gallery for the day will be completed allowing you to a receive a prize for that exhibit.

You can head back to Blathers in the Museum foyer and speak with him to claim your event prizes for completing each card whenever you wish — either after finishing a single card or saving up all four at once.

After you complete all 4 stamp cards, with 12 stamps in total, that’s all of the event activities International Museum Day has to offer for the day. It can be completed in as little as five to ten minutes giving you all of the available event rewards. It’s a super easy event!

What Happens On Subsequent Days During The Event

But what about the next day afterwards, or the rest of the 14-day long International Museum Day event? The good news is that unlike the May Day event earlier this month, this event doesn’t completely disappear after you’ve done it once and it can be repeated on later days.

When you speak to Blathers on a subsequent day during the event period, he’ll inform you that a Stamp Rally is being held at the Museum again. However the stamp stations listed on your Stamp Cards, and therefore the locations you’ll need to visit, will change every day.

That means you’ll need to go hunting again and can’t simply repeat the exact same locations where you found stamp stations last time. On the bright side, a particular station will always reappear in the same spot, so when you see the same name repeated you can remember where it was found previously.

Sadly, when you complete the Stamp Rally on subsequent days during the event, you will only receive duplicates of the exact same items! There are no further unique rewards to get during International Museum Day, besides the first four on Day 1, in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Frequently Asked Questions For International Museum Day

We’ve compiled the answers to a few commonly asked questions you might have about the International Museum Day event below. Let us know in the comments below if you have any suggestions to add!

Will There More Stamps To Find Every Day?

Yes! Each and every day during the International Museum Day event period from May 18th to 30th, there will be a new Stamp Rally held by Blathers for collecting three more stamps in each gallery. However, the same repeated rewards will be given by him daily, so this is only good if you want more Plaques!

Is There A Prize For Completing The Stamp Rally On Every Day?

As far as we know so far, there are no additional prizes or rewards for completing the Stamp Rally every single day during the event, besides getting duplicates of the Fish, Bug, Fossil, and Art Plaques. Sorry to disappoint!

Can You Customize The Museum Plaque Items?

Unfortunately, the Fish, Bug, Fossil, and Art Plaques cannot be customized at a DIY Crafting workbench. There’s only one default design available for each item. That’s a shame because we’d love to see alternative colors or different types of wood — it’d certainly increase the value of these items.

Can You Use The Museum Plaque Items As Doorplates?

Sadly, the Fish, Bug, Fossil, and Art Plaques cannot be used as a decorative doorplate for your house. Honestly, we don’t understand why this is the case because these items would make a fantastic door decoration, but that’s how it is.

What Do The Museum Plaque Items Sell For At Nook’s Cranny?

The Fish, Bug, Fossil, and Art Plaques can be sold for 2,500 Bells each to Timmy & Tommy at the Nook’s Cranny shop — or 10,000 Bells for the entire set. That’s actually a significant increase introduced in the Version 1.10 Update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

In the 2020 version of this event, we actually criticized the original sell price of just 300 Bells in this guide for being ridiculously low, so we’re glad to see that Nintendo does listen to player feedback from time to time!
