How To Get Rainbow Feathers For Festivale (Red / Blue / Green / Purple)

How To Get Red, Blue, Green, Purple Feathers
Feathers can be found in Animal Crossing: New Horizons during the Festivale event held on February 15th, 2021 — just look for colored feathers flying in the air across your island!
Most commonly you’ll find the Red Feather, Blue Feather, Green Feather, and Purple Feather floating around the air on Festivale. When you spot one of them, simply use your Net to swing at the feather and catch it!
Feathers create a ‘whoosh’ type of sound effect as well when you’re standing near them that might help you in your hunt, especially if you have many obstructions on your island blocking sight.
Trade Feathers With Villagers
Another way to get the feathers you’re looking for is to try making a trade with one of your island’s villagers. Simply go up and talk to a villager while carrying feathers in your inventory, and they may propose a trade if you have the colors they are wearing.
You’ll still need some feathers to begin with for the trade as this is a feather for feather trade — but trading with villagers allows you to swap one color of feather for a different type you might need more.
It’s worth noting that if you’re carrying a stack of say, three feathers, then villagers will trade you back a matching stack of three in another color.
How To Get Rainbow Feathers
Rainbow Feathers are the rarest and most valuable of all feathers, so they can be a little trickier to get your hands on! Just like other types of feathers, Rainbow Feathers can be found randomly floating in the air during Festivale on February 15th, 2021.
However, Rainbow Feathers have an appearance rate far lower than the other colors of Red, Blue, Green, and Purple. They’re not impossible to find, but don’t expect to see them frequently.
Craft Rainbow Feathers
If your luck of spotting Rainbow Feathers in the air isn’t going well, there’s no need to worry as Rainbow Feathers can be easily crafted at a workbench too!
The first time you speak with Pavé outside Resident Services, he will share the Rainbow Feather DIY crafting recipe with you. Be sure to find it in your inventory and learn the recipe.
Then all it takes to craft 1 Rainbow Feather is 1 Red Feather, 1 Blue Feather, 1 Green Feather, and 1 Purple Feather combined together!
Of course, you should always try and catch Rainbow Feathers whenever you spot them in the air, but crafting is a great solution if you just aren’t having the right luck.
What To Do With Feathers
Feathers collected from the Festivale event can be used for three different purposes:
- Trading 3 regular Feathers of the same color or 1 Rainbow Feather to Pavé for a piece of Festivale Set furniture.
- Trading 3 Rainbow Feathers to Pavé for the Festivale Float reward.
- Customizing Festivale Set furniture into different colors using Rainbow Feathers.
- Wearing Feathers as a head accessory clothing item.
Otherwise, feathers can be safely sold to Timmy & Tommy at Nook’s Cranny for some spare Bells if you don’t care about any of the potential uses listed above.
