New Year Reminder: Don’t Forget To Get 2023’s Zodiac Rabbit Figurine In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Happy New Year everyone! Another year in the world has begun and with that comes another yearly opportunity to pick up a special item for the occasion from Nook Shopping in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Each year in Animal Crossing: New Horizons towards the end of one year and beginning of a new year, a special item from the Zodiac Figurine collection becomes available for sale in the Special Goods section of Nook Shopping.

These figurine items reflect the twelve different animals featured in the Chinese zodiac (plus, a bonus thirteenth for the Japanese zodiac) for each year, a tradition celebrated in China and many other countries in Asia.

For the 2023 New Year’s celebration this year, you can now find the Rabbit Zodiac Figurine for sale in Animal Crossing: New Horizons from December 22nd, 2022 to January 5th, 2023. Be sure to grab one before it’s gone as it’s scheduled to return next in 2034-2035. That’s a while from now!

Previously, the Zodiac Ox Figurine and Zodiac Tiger Figurine have been for sale for Animal Crossing players during 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 respectively, making for the third Zodiac Figurine that can collected in real-time.

To be clear, the Zodiac items are not restricted by any sort of server lock and it is entirely possible to time travel between years to obtain all of them at any time if you so desire.

However, many Animal Crossing players enjoy playing their island in real-time unlocking items in turn with the real world, so this is your reminder and opportunity to continue building out your Zodiac Figurine collection if you prefer to play like that!

It’s also possible to potentially obtain Zodiac Figurine items from Katrina on Harvey’s Island as a reward after purchasing a Purification effect from her following a bad fortune.

Honestly, I personally find that method a bit lame and prefer to pick them up the traditional way from Nook Shopping each year in accordance with the year, but it’s an option that should be mentioned.
