What’s New To Do On Actual Bunny Day (April 9th, 2023) In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

4 months ago 37 Comments

While the Bunny Day Event as a whole began with preparations in Animal Crossing: New Horizons last week on April 2nd, the actual Bunny Day has arrived today on April 9th, 2022 with Zipper T. Bunny back on your island for some more fun!

Now that everyone’s favorite Easter Bunny is back on our islands, he’s got a few extra tricks up his sleeve for new content that wasn’t previously available until today. In this mini-guide, we’ll cover everything that is new to discover on the actual Bunny Day and what you should do!

Note: This article has been refreshed for the 2023 version of Bunny Day, however the content is the same as previous years with nothing new for veteran players who experienced it already.

Get Bunny Day Arch DIY Crafting Recipe

You can find Zipper T. Bunny in front of Resident Services with a set of festive balloons on April 9th, 2023! (April 17th in 2022) When you first speak to him today, he’ll give you a brand new Bunny Day Arch DIY crafting recipe that wasn’t previously obtainable during the event.

To craft the Bunny Day Arch, you need to use the following crafting materials:

  • 2 Earth Eggs
  • 2 Stone Eggs
  • 2 Leaf Eggs
  • 2 Wood Eggs
  • 2 Sky Eggs
  • 2 Water Eggs

Can’t find Zipper T. Bunny near Resident Services? Make sure you are playing on April 9th, 2023 and your version number is 2.0.0 or later.

Trade In Easter Eggs To Get Bunny Day Basket

After you’ve learned the Bunny Day Arch DIY crafting recipe from Zipper T. Bunny, there’s a few more options that become unlocked with him!

First of all, you can get another new item by trading in one of every Easter Egg type. If you can bring him one Earth Egg, one Stone Egg, one Leaf Egg, one Wood Egg, one Sky Egg, and one Water Egg, he will reward you with a special Bunny Day Basket!

Unlike every other Bunny Day item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the Basket is not a crafting recipe and doesn’t need to be crafted — you get the complete item! Maybe this Zipper guy isn’t so bad after all?

Exchange Easter Eggs For A Different Type

If you happen to need any help with getting more of a certain Easter Egg type, Zipper T. Bunny can help you out with that problem now too!

In exchange for three of the same Easter Egg type, he’ll give you one Easter Egg back of your choosing. The 3 for 1 exchange rate isn’t great, but if you’ve got a huge surplus of certain eggs and have few of another egg, this can be a good solution especially as many Bunny Day items require every Easter Egg.

Since Water Eggs and Sky Eggs tend to be some of the most common, it’s likely you would use the exchange to trade in those Easter Eggs for rarer ones like Earth Eggs! But you can trade any type of eggs you wish.

Craft Wobbling Zipper Toy To Get Bunny Day Wand DIY Crafting Recipe

Finally after crafting the Wobbling Zipper Toy, the gleeful Zipper T. Bunny has one final trick up his sleeve! The final Bunny Day prize for all of your effort is revealed to be the Bunny Day Wand DIY crafting recipe and given to you completing your Bunny Day collection.

Like all of the other wand items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the Bunny Day Wand allows you to store multiple clothing outfits into the tool allowing for quick and easy changes.

To craft the Bunny Day Wand, you need to use the following crafting materials:

  • 1 Wobbling Zipper Toy
  • 3 Star Fragments

The Wobbling Zipper Toy you just crafted earlier to unlock the recipe can be used to create the Bunny Day Wand, alongside 3 Star Fragments that you find on your beach after wishing upon shooting stars at night.

Note: If you participated in Bunny Day in previous years and already received this recipe, Zipper appears to give you the direct item this year.
